Job Description:

The successful candidate will be a key part of the Design and Construction team and will be responsible for project managing new Amazon Delivery Stations (DS) planning, design, and construction. This includes extending existing facilities and developing new sites. The Construction Manager will play an integral role in developing and implementing the EU network infrastructure, analyzing and evaluating different facility scenarios and build-out designs. This role also involves supporting the standardization of technical and facility-related processes and systems.

This position combines construction engineering, planning, project management, facilities management, and contract management. It requires proven ability in planning, designing, and managing projects for new and existing facilities.

The role is based in France and involves frequent travel within France and the EU, if required.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee construction engineering, planning, and design for DSs and other projects
• Support projects on new fulfillment network buildings and capacity expansion within existing DSs
• Conduct construction engineering design for new and remodel projects
• Prepare reports, specifications, and technical analyses to define design requirements
• Provide technical direction in engineering design, AutoCAD, building layouts, and schedules
• Survey facilities, develop procedures for facility audits, and recommend solutions for infrastructure, safety, and security issues
• Negotiate contracts with vendors and prepare approval documentation
• Ensure contracts are fit for purpose, cost-effective, and include appropriate SLAs
• Manage site operations, coordinate planning, and oversee subcontractors
• Assist in due diligence for new opportunities
• Coach project teams and ensure contracted resources meet quality and timeline targets
• Audit contractors for skills and competence
• Inform contractors of resource or work demand changes
• Establish and operate information systems for scheduling and recording work
• Support contractors to improve performance
• Mentor new team members on best practices

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent Amazon experience
• Experience in project/portfolio management from design to operation
• Ability to lead and manage teams
• Fluency in French and English

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Master’s degree in architecture, engineering, or construction management
• Effective communication skills for diverse audiences
• Knowledge of additional languages such as French, German, Polish, Portuguese, Arabic, Turkish, Afrikaans, or Zulu is a plus
