DESCRIPTION

Amazon, founded in 1995, strives to be the world's most customer-centric company, offering a vast online marketplace. The successful candidate will be a key member of the Design and Construction team, responsible for managing projects related to new Amazon Delivery Stations (DS), including planning, design, and construction. This includes extending existing facilities and developing new sites. The Construction Manager will play an integral role in developing and implementing the EU network infrastructure, analyzing various facility scenarios, and standardizing technical and facility-related processes and systems.

This role combines construction engineering, planning, project management, facilities management, and contract management. It requires proven experience in planning, designing, and managing projects for new and existing facilities.

The position is based in France and involves frequent travel within France and the EU as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee construction engineering, planning, and design for DSs and expansion projects.
• Support projects related to new fulfillment network buildings and capacity enhancements in existing Italian DSs.
• Conduct construction engineering design for new and remodel projects.
• Prepare reports, specifications, and technical analyses to define design requirements, equipment, and services.
• Provide technical direction for engineering design, AutoCAD layouts, build details, schedules, and materials.
• Survey facilities, develop procedures for facility audits, evaluate infrastructure, safety, and security issues, and recommend solutions.
• Negotiate contracts with vendors and handle documentation for approvals.
• Ensure contracts are fit for purpose, cost-effective, and include appropriate SLAs.
• Manage site operations, coordinate planning, and oversee subcontractors.
• Assist in due diligence evaluations of new opportunities.
• Coach project teams and ensure contracted resources meet quality and timeline targets.
• Audit contractors for skills and competence, and inform them of resource or work demand changes.
• Establish information systems for scheduling and recording contract work.
• Support contractors to improve performance and coach new team members on best practices.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a similar field, or equivalent internal Amazon experience.
• Experience managing projects from design through permitting, implementation, and operation.
• Ability to lead and manage teams.
• Fluency in French and English.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in architecture, engineering, or construction management.
• Effective communication skills tailored to diverse audiences.
• Knowledge of additional languages such as German, Polish, Portuguese, Arabic, Turkish, Afrikaans, Zulu is a plus.
