The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) invites applications for Deputy Librarian to lead the Library's strategic development, services and resources across campuses. You will steer change, oversee policies, and coordinate diverse teams to support teaching, learning and research excellence.
The appointee reports to the Librarian, guiding quality assurance, administrative oversight, and collaboration with faculties, JULAC members and external partners.

Applications are invited for the position of Deputy Librarian in the University Library. The Library is the key venue and platform of learning, teaching and research of the University, and currently houses one of the most comprehensive collections on education-related subjects and themes in Asia, and a growing collection in complementary disciplines including humanities, social sciences, and creative arts and culture. It consists of the Mong Man Wai Library on the Tai Po Campus and the Tseung Kwan O Study Centre Library. The Library’s total collections exceed 909,000 print and media materials, 152,000 e-journals, 3 million e-books and over 360 on-line databases.
Reporting to the Librarian, the Deputy Librarian is a key member of the Library’s senior management team. He/she will assist and advise the Librarian on the strategic development and transformation of the Library towards emerging areas in higher education such as AI, e-learning, digital scholarship, data science, etc. He/she will lead and coordinate the planning and implementation of new initiatives on service and resource enhancements, and will respond rapidly and proactively to all new developments in learning, teaching and research in higher education. The Deputy Librarian will also assist and deputise the Librarian in overall administration of the Library, formulation of policies, quality assurance of library services, overseeing all Library Sections and Units, as well as working closely with the administration, Academies, Faculties, academic departments and other units of the University, JULAC members and other external partners of the Library.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract. Fringe benefits include the University’s Voluntary Contributions to MPF Scheme or a contract-end lump sum payment (totaling up to 15% of the basic salary), leave, medical and dental benefits, and, where applicable, housing benefits. The appointee will hold a substantive rank of Associate Librarian in the University.
