A career in our Deals Strategy practice, within Deals Transaction Services, offers the opportunity to help organizations realize the potential of mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and capital markets. We assist some of the world’s leading companies in originating, creating, executing, and realizing value from deals. Through data-driven insights, we ensure our clients move in the right direction to maximize value for their companies. Our team helps navigate the accounting and financial reporting challenges of business combinations, developing roadmaps of economic objectives, determining the necessary professionals, and considering financial reporting implications for deals.

Meaningful work you’ll be a part of:

As a Delivering Deal Value Manager, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers to address complex business issues from strategy to execution. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Integration strategy and execution
  • Deal transaction execution
  • Due diligence, including stand-alone costs and carve-out
  • Synergy review and planning, including cost optimization and business transformation
  • Carve-out and separation execution

During the transaction process, the DDV team develops a rapid understanding of the target/client business to quickly identify operational issues, synergies, risks, and upsides.

Experiences and skills you’ll use to solve:
  • Experience providing strategic advice and support to senior management, demonstrating extensive knowledge of Mergers, Acquisitions, and Divestitures, including pre-deal due diligence, integration planning, separation planning, synergy and cost savings analysis, and post-close transformation
  • Experience managing large programs (e.g., global, multi-functional) with the ability to coordinate multiple senior stakeholders across functions to achieve deal objectives
  • Knowledge of functional areas such as Information Technology, Human Resources, Finance, Operations/Supply Chain, and Sales and Marketing
  • Ability to manage and develop strategic client relationships while delivering high-quality work across multiple projects
  • Acting as a trusted advisor at the highest levels of client organizations based on competency in integrations and separations
  • Managing quantitative and qualitative data analyses of complex information
  • Leading business development activities internally and externally, including client pursuit meetings and proposals
  • Valuing diversity, developing and coaching diverse teams, and ensuring inclusive perspectives
  • Willingness and ability to travel within Canada and internationally
