Are you passionate about food service and cooking? Do you enjoy providing customers (we call them guests!) with delicious meal options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner? We are seeking a Deli Clerk to join our team in a retail grocery environment, where you'll play a key role in food preparation and guest service.

Job Description

What You’ll Do:

• Provide Helpful Service: Deliver excellent guest service through friendly greetings, answering questions, and addressing concerns professionally. Your helpful attitude will positively impact every guest interaction.
• Guest Assistance: Help guests locate items and answer the Deli Department phone professionally.
• Order Fulfillment: Receive, prepare, and fulfill guest orders and requests with attention to quality.
• Customer Service: Address and resolve guest concerns promptly using the boomerang principle to ensure satisfaction.
• Quality Control: Inspect, rotate, maintain proper temperatures, and replenish deli products to meet high standards.
• Inventory Management: Maintain proper inventory levels, including containers, lids, spoons, and tags.
• Food Safety: Lead by example in maintaining food safety logs and following safety standards.
• Efficiency: Meet quality standards by 10 am and 5 pm daily.
• Honor Commitments: Maintain regular, timely attendance and provide notice for absences.
• Support the Team: Perform other duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For:

To succeed as a Deli Clerk, you should have:

• Customer Focus: Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with guests and staff.
• Communication Skills: Good oral and written communication.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to quickly assess and resolve issues in a dynamic environment.
• Safety Awareness: Understanding of safety policies and proper training on equipment.
• Food Knowledge: Knowledge of retail food operations and merchandising, with sound decision-making skills.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Full upper body motion.
• Ability to work at a fast pace.
• May be exposed to extreme temperatures.

Schedule

This is a full-time hourly position with varied schedules including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
