THE ROLE

Within the Data Science team, collaborating with other departments, your mission will be to develop optimization solutions for complex business problems. You will focus on designing, analyzing, and experimenting with operations research techniques to support tactical and strategic decision-making.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

As part of the Decision Science team, you will:

1. Work closely with business experts to understand and translate business needs.
2. Collaborate with internal and external partners to develop solutions.
3. Apply state-of-the-art approaches and propose new algorithms for resource planning, scheduling, facility location, and network design.
4. Develop, validate, and deploy simulation and optimization models.
5. Gather and structure data from various sources for input into models.
6. Define relevant KPIs and metrics for optimization objectives.
7. Communicate results effectively to stakeholders.
8. Support IT teams in industrializing and integrating algorithms.
9. Engage with academic and industrial partners.
10. Handle complex issues independently, escalating only the most challenging ones.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR?

• MSc or PhD in Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, or related fields.
• Strong background in operations research and optimization techniques.
• Proficiency in Python/R and C++ programming.
• Experience with solvers like CPLEX, Gurobi, etc.
• Good SQL skills.
• Knowledge of the logistics industry is essential; maritime industry experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of data science technologies (Data Analysis, Machine Learning) is a plus.
• Experience with data querying languages and statistical software.
• Ability to develop algorithms and determine appropriate applications.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining technical concepts clearly.
• Collaborative and innovative mindset, focused on customer value.
