Job Description:

We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to play a central role in driving innovation and shaping data-driven strategies across a fast-moving tech organisation. In this high-impact position, you’ll blend technical depth, product intuition, and strategic thinking to solve meaningful business challenges and enhance user experiences through applied machine learning.

Your Collaborators

You'll work closely with cross-functional product and engineering teams. This role also offers visibility at the leadership level, with influence across multiple departments.

What You’ll Do

1. Drive end-to-end ML Initiatives: Design, develop, and deploy scalable machine learning systems that support personalisation, recommendations, and search use cases.
2. Advance Applied AI: Utilise advanced techniques, including neural networks and Large Language Models (LLMs), to improve relevance and decision-making across digital platforms.
3. Be a Technical Leader: Serve as a mentor and technical advisor to other data scientists and engineers, promoting a culture of experimentation and continuous improvement.
4. Shape Strategy: Work with stakeholders across product, engineering, and analytics to align on priorities, propose data-driven solutions, and influence the roadmap.
5. Evaluate Emerging Tech: Stay at the forefront of ML/AI research and help integrate promising developments into real-world applications.

Ideal Background

• Advanced degree (MSc/PhD) in Computer Science, Statistics, Machine Learning, or related field
• 7+ years of hands-on industry experience, with recent leadership in ML initiatives
• Strong expertise in building and operationalising machine learning models
• Domain experience in at least one of the following: recommender systems, ranking algorithms, NLP, or information retrieval
• Proficient in Python and modern data science tooling
• Familiar with both relational and NoSQL databases
• Experience deploying ML solutions in production environments
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
