Mission
Imagine you buy a bike from a bike store. As it’s pricey, you want to insure it against theft or damages. The bike store, not being an insurer, has to contract with an insurer to provide coverage – this is Wakam’s role.
Build side responsibilities
- Discuss with partner companies that sell insurance products to implement data flows between the broker and Wakam.
- Work with the partner to ensure partnership data is provided to business and technical teams.
- Manage your own portfolio of partnerships and interact closely with Wakam business teams to understand the product and data needs.
- Provide data advice and requirements to the partner based on product specifics and Wakam's data needs.
- Work iteratively with partners to engineer the data flows in our Git repo, requiring a good knowledge of Python and SQL.
- Report on data implementation projects progress via dedicated tools, both in Data Office committees and Business Committees.
- Contribute to internal transverse technical and business projects and to continuous internal process improvement.
RUN side responsibilities
- Monitor and ensure that our monthly data integration with our 150+ partners is executed with perfection.
- Serve as a key contact for internal clients (Technical Reserving and Profitability Department, Reinsurance, Accounting, Compliance) and partners for various data topics.
- Takes charge of requests (incidents / problems, evolution requests, assistance) and handle them in compliance with SLA and insurance standards.
- Analyse, follow up on problems escalated to the various departments until resolved, and solve complex data problems.
- Communicate regularly on action plans and the progress of requests, both in writing and verbally.
- Commit changes to our Git repo when necessary and be able to understand and code in Python.
Profile requirements
- Master's degree in Engineering with 2–5 years of experience in data management, data consulting, data analytics or analytics engineering.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.
- Good communication skills both in English and French.
- Expertise in SQL for analytics.
- Strong experience in at least two of Azure, Snowflake, DBT, Databricks, PowerBI.
- Python proficiency is a plus.
- Insurance knowledge is a plus.
