Key responsibilities
The Data Governance Officer implements AZP data strategy in close collaboration with Data Owners and their teams. They drive AZP data transformation, develop data capabilities aligned with business priorities, and aim to establish a data-driven organization.
They define policies, standards, and directives within their scope, involving stakeholders across functions, LoBs, and business units. They assist Data Owners in identifying Critical Data Elements (CDEs) within their scope. They also manage the provisioning of internal and external data to support organizational objectives, processes, and decision-making, and drive documentation of data objects in partnership with Data Owners.
Responsibilities include:
- Developing and managing the LoB data governance roadmap, outlining initiatives, timelines, and deliverables.
- Participating actively in data management committees to influence decision-making and promote data accountability.
- Overseeing the implementation of the AZP Data Acculturation Program to ensure effective data-related skills and knowledge.
- Ensuring key data is documented in the company's Business Glossary Tool (IDMC).
- Supporting Data Owners in achieving data quality objectives, including appointing Data Stewards and implementing quality measurements and remediation plans.
- Identifying and managing data governance risks and recommending mitigation strategies.
- Facilitating data access for authorized users through analytical platforms.
- Helping Data Owners identify CDEs within their scope.
- Coordinating efforts to develop and maintain a centralized business glossary.
- Understanding and collecting strategic data needs from the LoB, including validation of key data and repositories.
- Owning the data governance framework, including processes, standards, and tools.
- Managing resolution of data-related issues.
- Collaborating with the Data Quality Manager to define and implement data management policies, standards, and guidelines, and monitoring changes in practices.
What you bring
- Multiple years of experience collaborating with or within IT departments.
- Experience in financial planning and IT cost management.
- Experience in stakeholder or vendor management roles within IT.
- Leadership training and experience.
- Certifications such as Agile Scrum, OPEX, Six Sigma, or PMP.
- Experience in transformation programs and change management training.
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
- Understanding of local and regional labor laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
