As part of its Data strategy, AXA IM has built a very successful / state of the heart Data Product Factory. About 10+ various Data Product squads from different domains (Data Referential, Responsible Investment, Quant & Research, Finance, Digital, Front office, Operations, Trading, Performance&Reporting etc.) are building their own data product suite and leveraging the data families produced and maintained by others. The platform offers Data Pipeline industrialization, Data Science, Exploration, Visualization for our internal customers and other AXA Entities.

The platform has still a lot of key components to build, and it is an exciting time to join us either to build the platform or to participate to our ambitious programs.

As a Data Engineer, you will join the Data Platform Core team responsible for designing, implementing, and running cloud-native data solutions. You will either integrate the core team of 4 experienced data, cloud or devOps engineers to build industrialised patterns or core infrastructure components or you will join one of our Data Domain oriented to service business needs on specialized use cases such as ESG, Data Science, Signals, Risk, Quantitative Data Sourcing, Data Referentials, Reporting...

Key responsibilities

1. Industrialize our ingestion patterns on our Azure Cloud / Databricks solution, using state-of-the-art technologies (Spark 3, Azure Cognitive Services, Azure Event Hub, Docker, Azure Pipelines, Scala, Python)
2. Help with the onboarding of new product squads directly on the new cloud Data Platform or participate to one of those implementing business Data strategies to build new Datasets from internal and external Data
3. Monitor and enhance the performance and utilization of clusters and FinOps, ensuring efficient resource management and cost optimization
4. Design, build and maintain common patterns such as CI / CD Pipelines, shared libraries (data pipeline development, data quality, data lineage) and shared services (APIs, data visualization, monitoring, scheduler)
5. Support a community of data engineers and data scientists by understanding their problems and answering their questions and help them write the solutions on the Data Platform
6. Participate in the build of our Data Science platform
7. Participate in the data onboarding of third-party data providers such as Bloomberg or internal applications
8. Build a research environment for our Quants

You will get a better understanding of the development cycle of / on big data platform shared by many teams and learn how to find efficient solutions to their common challenges.

Education & Experience

1. Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field
2. 5+ years in large-scale data projects (Data Lake, Hadoop / Spark, BI, ETL)
3. Proven experience with data modeling, API design, and Azure cloud solutions
4. Strong background in data management: MDM, metadata, data quality, analytics, data exchanges
5. Experience leading global projects

Technical Skills

1. Data formats: Avro, Parquet, JSON, CSV
2. Azure Cloud: infrastructure as code, security practices

Nice to Have

1. Rust, Scala, Jupyter stack
2. Exposure to Machine Learning / AI
