Job Overview

Ce poste est ouvert aux candidats francophones ; toutefois, un niveau professionnel en anglais (écrit et oral) est requis pour collaborer avec des équipes internationales.

The Senior Data Center Operations Engineer plays a critical role in supporting the build‑out and long‑term operation of a new, enterprise‑scale data center environment. This position bridges IT infrastructure and critical facilities systems, ensuring the reliability, performance, and resilience of compute, network, power, and cooling systems that support advanced, high‑density workloads.

You will be involved from the early white space (greenfield) deployment phase, contributing to infrastructure bring‑up, commissioning, and validation. As the site transitions into steady‑state operations, you will take ownership of ongoing reliability, incident response, and continuous improvement, ensuring the environment operates at the highest standards of uptime and efficiency.

This role operates as a senior technical counterpart within the data center environment, working alongside site leadership to ensure infrastructure reliability and performance. While the Data Center Manager is responsible for team leadership and work prioritization, this role provides deep technical expertise and operational ownership across critical systems.

You will collaborate across IT, facilities, and vendor teams, acting as a key technical resource and escalation point within a globally connected environment.

This role offers continuity across both deployment and operational phases, providing a strong foundation for long‑term technical growth within a critical infrastructure program. The program is designed with continuity in mind, with a focus on building a stable, high‑performing team that evolves with the site over time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own reliability and performance of data center infrastructure across compute, network, power, and cooling systems
  • Support hardware installation, structured cabling, and Layer 1‑3 troubleshooting
  • Partner with colocation providers to review MOPs/EOPs, validate redundancy, and oversee maintenance activities
  • Operate and support critical infrastructure systems including UPS, PDUs, switchgear, generators, CRAC/CRAH units, CDUs, chillers, and cooling towers
  • Contribute to capacity planning, load balancing, and preventive maintenance strategies
  • Lead incident response and root cause analysis (RCA) for infrastructure events
  • Develop and refine SOPs to improve operational consistency and efficiency
  • Implement automation and tooling to streamline data center operations
  • Support transition from build phase to steady‑state operations, including process and documentation development
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure safe, compliant, and high‑performing environments
  • Participate in on‑call rotation supporting 24x7 operations
Required Skills
  • Professional fluency in English (written and verbal) is required for coordination with global teams
  • Strong hands‑on experience across both IT infrastructure and critical facilities systems
  • Deep understanding of data center fundamentals (redundancy, fault tolerance, high availability design)
  • Experience operating electrical systems (UPS, PDUs, switchgear, generators, transformers)
  • Understanding of cooling systems (CRAC/CRAH, chillers, cooling towers, liquid cooling)
  • Proficiency with Linux systems and basic automation (Bash, Python, Ansible)
  • Ability to troubleshoot network infrastructure using CLI (Cisco, Arista, Juniper)
  • Experience working with colocation providers and reviewing MOP/EOP procedures
  • Familiarity with ITSM/DCIM platforms (ServiceNow, Jira, NetBox, Sunbird, etc.)
  • Strong documentation, communication, and incident management skills
  • Ability to operate effectively in high‑pressure, high‑availability environments
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Required Experience
  • 7+ years of experience in data center operations, infrastructure engineering, or critical facilities environments
  • Proven experience supporting both data center IT systems and facility infrastructure
  • Experience in data center build‑outs, commissioning, or large‑scale deployments (strongly preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience leading incident response and performing root cause analysis
  • Experience mentoring junior team members or leading technical initiatives
  • Familiarity with data center KPIs and operational performance metrics
  • Experience managing or supporting outage events in production environments
Preferred Certifications
  • CompTIA Server+, Network+, or Linux+
  • ITIL Foundation certification
  • CCNA, JNCIA, or equivalent
