Job Description:

Context

The Customer Support (CS) organization handles installations, qualification, repair, and maintenance of ASML systems at customer sites, including transferring know-how to customers. Local site Customer Support branches manage these tasks regionally.

The Field Service Engineer 3 interacts daily with customers and collaborates with senior engineers and line managers. They handle most problems independently, executing maintenance activities and diagnostics, with review on end results.

Education and Experience

  • Field Service Engineer with relevant experience; BSc in Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Experience in the semiconductor industry required.
  • Knowledge in pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, semiconductor processes, and relevant software.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, data analysis, word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of product functionality of main modules/sub-modules.

Responsibilities

Problem analysis and approach

Gather relevant information, analyze, adapt approaches as needed.

Problem handovers and routing

Coordinate with support levels, document data, advise customer personnel, and execute repairs with manuals and tools.

Procedures

Plan and execute procedures, ensure parts and tools are available, and adapt during execution for optimal results.

Training / advice

Explain actions, train customers, and recommend procedural improvements.

Process optimization

Contribute to improvement proposals.

Knowledge build-up and transfer

Train others, maintain and expand own knowledge.

Coaching

Support less experienced engineers and facilitate knowledge transfer.
