MaiaSpace in France is seeking a Cryogenic Stage Thermal Engineer to define thermal environments for cryogenic stages and size thermal regulation systems. You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure flight-worthiness through simulations and tests.

The role requires an engineering degree with 5+ years in thermal engineering, experience with thermal modelling tools, and programming in Python or VBA.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree (+5 years post-Baccalaureate) ideally specialized in thermal engineering
• Strong knowledge and experience in thermal engineering
• Knowledge and experience of launch vehicles or aerospace/aeronautics vehicles is appreciated
• Experience with thermal modelling tools
• Experience with programming languages (Python, VBA)
• Knowledge on thermal management and thermal protection technologies
• English level sufficient to read and write technical documentation, to perform oral technical presentation and to interact on technical topics

Responsabilités

• Contribute to the cryogenic stage development plan by identifying necessary activities to ensure flight worthiness regarding thermal aspects
• Define required methods and tools to perform calculations (analytical or numerical)
• Benchmark, choose and support installation of numerical tools for simulations
• Calculate the thermal environment in stage cavities or structures during all flight phases
• Define test objectives, measurement plans and identify sensors; contribute to test campaigns and data exploitation
• Assess compatibility of stage equipment to the thermal environment and propose design modifications if needed
• Size thermal protections and determine materials/technologies
• Size conditioning systems
• Support treatment of production anomalies on thermal regulation systems
• Perform flight simulations and flight exploitations
• Work in a multi-disciplinary team within an Agile/Scrum environment
• Communicate in French and English
