Quobly, based in Grenoble, France, is seeking a Cryo-CMOS Design Research Engineer to advance CMOS readout architectures for large quantum processors. You will model, simulate and implement specialized analog/mixed-signal circuits at cryogenic temperatures, collaborating with physicists and process engineers.

You will contribute to the scientific roadmap, test fabricated circuits at low temperatures, and participate in cross-disciplinary design reviews within a pioneering quantum team.

Qualifications

  • 5–10 years in analog/mixed-signal IC design
  • Knowledge of CMOS imaging sensors or RAM
  • Ideally RF design knowledge

Responsabilités

  • Generate new ideas for control, addressing and readout of large-scale quantum processors
  • Design architectures with behavioral modeling (Matlab, Python)
  • Perform time, frequency and noise simulations with Cadence
  • Implement layouts in Calibre and run LVS/DRC and parasitics extractions
  • Collaborate with physicists, process integration and circuit design teams
  • Test fabricated circuits at low temperatures with the testing team
  • Contribute to the internal scientific discussions and roadmap

Quobly offers you the opportunity to participate in the future of quantum computing; become a member of our science and innovation team as a Cryo-CMOS Design Research Engineer to turn scientific breakthroughs into products that matter.

Your main mission will be to generate new ideas, open up new avenues for the control, the addressing and the readout of large-scale quantum processors.

  • Imagine and develop original concepts of circuit architectures fabricated with industrial CMOS technologies for the readout of large arrays of silicon spin QuBits at low temperature (figures of merit: speed, noise, overall consumption and local dissipation)
  • Design these architectures with behavioral modeling first (Matlab, Python or Cadence), then with time, frequency and noise simulations with Cadence
  • Implement the designs in mask layouts in an industrial framework (eg Calibre), running LVS, DRC and parasitics extraction analyses
  • Interact with physicists of the quantum team, process integration engineers and the circuit design team
  • Actively contribute to the testing of fabricated circuits at low temperatures by interacting with the testing team
  • Actively participate in internal scientific discussions by contributing ideas to the scientific and innovation roadmap
  • Collaborate with talented people, in a culture of transparency and autonomy.

Your profile:

A minimum of 5 to 10 years’ experience in analog and mixed-signal IC design

Knowledge of pixelized devices such as CMOS imaging sensors or RAM

Ideally, knowledge of RF design

Above all, you are a creative thinker, capable of challenging conventional approaches and coming up with new solutions.
