A leading consultancy is forming a pool of Critical Raw Materials (CRM) Policy Experts for various short-term assignments within a new EU contract. This role involves analyzing national policies, advising on legislative frameworks, and suggesting institutional reforms to enhance local CRM production and strategy coherence. Ideal candidates will possess a Master’s degree and significant experience in raw materials governance or EU industrial policy.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field required.
  • 8+ years of experience in raw materials governance or EU policy necessary.
  • Familiarity with CRMA and related frameworks is a must.

  • Analyse national policies on CRM and identify gaps for improvement.
  • Propose policy measures for local CRM production and recycling.
  • Draft recommendations for CRMA implementation.

Critical Raw Materials (CRM) Policy Expert

Location : Europe (remote / on-site as needed)

Duration : Up to 12 months

Estimated Workload : Short-term assignments / task-based consultancy

About the Opportunity : We are creating a pool of Critical Raw Materials (CRM) Policy Experts for a new FWC Contract : EC-SG REFORM / 2025 / OP / 0001 : Provision of consultancy services to support the design, development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of structural reforms in EU Member State. Experts in this pool will be contacted for specific assignments as they arise. If you have relevant experience we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Analyse existing and planned national policies relevant to CRM and identify gaps or enhancements needed for CRMA alignment.
  • Propose alternative policy measures and institutional reforms to support local CRM production, processing, and recycling.
  • Draft recommendations on changes to the legislative and administrative framework for CRMA implementation.
  • Advise on EU-level CRM strategy coherence and resilience-building measures.

Qualifications :

  • Master’s degree in public policy, EU law, geology, mining policy, or related field.
  • At least 8 years’ experience in raw materials governance, critical mineral strategy, or EU industrial policy.
  • Familiarity with the CRMA and related Green Deal, Circular Economy, and resilience policy frameworks.
  • Excellent analytical and policy drafting skills.
