Job Title: Creative Consultant (France Launch)

Pocket FM is a global pioneer in immersive audio storytelling, bringing captivating, long-form series to millions of listeners. With over 100,000 hours of audio content across genres, our stories are transforming everyday moments into rich entertainment experiences. As we expand into the French market, we’re seeking a seasoned Creative Consultant to ensure our content connects deeply with French audiences.

Role Summary:

This is a mission-critical freelance role for Pocket FM’s launch and growth in France. As our Creative Consultant, you’ll be the quality gatekeeper for all French content—from adapted scripts and voice performances to audio mastering and promotional storytelling. Your role will directly influence how Pocket FM resonates with the French audience and scales in the region.

You won’t just review—you’ll elevate. We’re looking for someone who has a sharp editorial eye, cultural intuition, and a passion for high-quality audio storytelling.

Key Responsibilities:

I. Writing & Production Excellence for French Audio Series:

• Script Adaptation & Localization: Evaluate adapted French scripts for narrative fidelity, authentic cultural nuances, idioms, character voice, and effective genre translation to meet French market expectations.
• Voice-Over Artist (VOA) & Recording Quality: Assess VOA casting, providing critical feedback on performance (diction, pacing, emotion) for an immersive listening experience.
• Audio Mastering & Sound Design: Review mastered episodes for overall sound quality, clarity, consistency, and appropriate use of SFX/music; identify technical flaws.
• Overall Show Quality & Engagement: Conduct holistic reviews for narrative flow, pacing, engagement, and error detection (continuity, plot). Provide strategic recommendations for captivating, error-free shows.

II. Marketing Asset Adaptation & Customer Acquisition Impact:

• Marketing Asset Adaptation & Quality: Review French-adapted marketing assets (including promos, audio snippets, social media content, and in-app customer facing content derived from original or German/English sources). Ensure assets accurately represent the core audio series' tone, genre, key selling points, and deliver a compelling message. Evaluate the quality of voice-overs, sound design, and editing for all relevant audio-visual materials.
• Effectiveness for Customer Acquisition: Assess the overall effectiveness of French marketing assets in attracting, engaging, and converting the target French audience. Provide actionable recommendations to enhance clarity, persuasiveness, cultural resonance, and the overall impact of these assets to optimize customer acquisition.

III. Process Improvement & Strategic Recommendations:

• Offer actionable feedback to enhance scriptwriting, localization, VOA direction, mastering, and promo creation.
• Recommend improvements in production pipelines, localization approaches, and quality assurance processes.

Qualifications & Experience:

• 7-10+ years in the French media/entertainment industry (scriptwriter, content director, producer, adaptation specialist).
• Proven track record with successful long-form serialized content (audio, TV, digital) in France.
• Deep expertise in narrative construction, character development, idiomatic dialogue for the French audience.
• Proven experience in adapting international content for French-speaking audiences.
• Familiarity with VOA production, audio post-production, and QC.
• Experience evaluating promotional content for market appeal.
• Native French fluency essential; professional English proficiency required. German is a bonus
