WELCOMING YOU TO THE TEAM

The Legal & Contracts Affairs Department team is a diverse and multicultural team with 15 team members located in Oslo, Paris and Hannover. Our team is a key member of the Project Team; collaborating closely with the Project Manager of the assigned project(s) to ensure that project(s) are delivered on time, on budget, with the required quality and within agreed specifications. The workplace is in Paris and you will be reporting Portfolio Contract Director.

GETTING A FLYING START

To succeed as a Contract Manager, you have strong background and experience in the Energy and Oil and Gas industry, as well as operational experience in project management. We appreciate if you have experience from EPCI contracts and are familiar with the major construction contract forms including; FIDIC,NF, NTK, NEC, LOGIC, ORGALIM. Sound business judgment with the ability to balance contractual and business priorities, break down complex contractual problems, and articulate risks to partners in the business. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, and have the ability to adapt to changing priorities. A commercial mindset, mentality, and curiosity to find solutions to practical problems while maintaining a high sense of quality and time are necessary. You will be comfortable with ensuring quality and safety during the projects.

HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT

As a Contract Manager, you will be a key member of the project team and be responsible for facilitating contract review with the project team, raising contractual awareness during the project execution phase, liaising with the client and other construction professionals, managing all commercial and contractual project, preparing relevant documentation and reports, ensuring contract obligations are followed, and managing changes to the work, variation orders, disputes, and claims. You may also participate in developing efficiencies and take part in technical improvements relevant to our department. You boost your impact by actively promoting Quality and HSE.

YOUR STARTING POINT

  • Degree in Law, Engineering, Finance, Technical, Economics or business sciences.
  • 5- 10years of relevant contract or commercial management experience.
  • In-depth understanding of contracts, with a proven track record for complex turnkey EPC projects in an international environment.
  • In Nexans we work in teams and are driven by project execution therefore being able to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, ability to adapt to changing priorities is of upmost importance.
  • Fluent in English, – oral and written, Italian or German is a plus.
