- Explores and benchmarks legal and business solution to support 3DS business and growth (new business / distribution model, new country, new technology…).
Produce
- Creates, negotiates and closes tailor made agreements.
- Specifically for sales transactions, he / she also approves final contractual framework before delivery to customer.
- Supports business litigation and pre-litigation issues.
- Streamlines and simplifies communication and validation processes with Business Affairs (Finance, DVE …) and other teams (R&D, Marketing…), to scale and optimize delivery of legal solutions in support of customers and suppliers transactions, Customer Value Engagement development, development and distribution of 3DS products and services, protection and enforcement of 3DS intellectual property.
Advocate
- Shares legal analyses identifying growth drivers and risks, to facilitate fast decision making related to business development, creation and protection of 3DS assets and value, including pre-acquisition due diligences and integration process of newly acquired, customer contract performance guidelines & return on experience.
Qualifications
- Licensed to practice law in Japan, US or other common law jurisdiction.
- 3-5 years of relevant legal experience in a law firm and / or in-house legal department with a strong commercial focus, preferably including substantial experience supporting multinational companies.
- Courage to lead with integrity and to take tough communications when necessary.
- Flexibility and willingness to learn new legal and business areas and find effective legal solutions as a business partner in a constantly evolving environment.
- Team player both inside and outside the legal function.
- Ability to lead and participate in cross-functional project teams often involving overseas colleagues.
- Effective oral and written communication and presentation style to interact with diverse audiences, including senior management, business clients, and outside counsels / professionals.
- Native in Japanese, business-level English writing and speaking skills required.
