The UNESCO World Heritage Convention brings together almost all countries of the world around a common objective of conserving the most exceptional natural and cultural sites. One of the core missions of the World Heritage Centre of the UNESCO Culture Sector (CLT / WHC) is the long-term conservation of biodiversity and sustainable development through broad application of the World Heritage Convention. Key tasks include monitoring the conservation status of sites, providing technical assistance, and capacity building with stakeholders ranging from local communities to global organizations. The Natural Heritage Unit and the World Heritage Marine Programme focus on conserving marine areas of Outstanding Universal Value, connecting site managers, and enhancing resilience and climate adaptation capacities.
Within the framework of extrabudgetary projects, the World Heritage Marine Programme seeks qualified specialists for project implementation and outreach. The incumbent will support activities including workshops, webinars, conferences, content development, and stakeholder engagement, with specific tasks outlined in the detailed project descriptions.

University or Master’s degree in environmental sciences or related fields, with at least 5 years of relevant experience in environment, climate change, or sustainable development. Fluency in English and good knowledge of French required.
