Description du poste

The Consultant will contribute to the delivery of investigations and other forensic and compliance engagements across France, Europe and overseas, while building technical expertise in fraud, bribery, corruption and other white collar crime matters. Working alongside senior colleagues, they will support investigations and compliance advisory engagements by reviewing and analysing financial data and documentation, conducting eDiscovery reviews interviews and other investigative procedures, and helping to summarise complex issues in clear, concise reports. You will be responsible for the delivery of accounts for the majority of the role, complemented by support on project management and risk, contributions to business development, and a commitment to personal and team development. You will bring a good level of relevant experience, a sound awareness of relevant rules and regulations, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast paced, team-oriented environment. Fluency in French and English, a university degree or equivalent and a willingness to travel at short notice are essential.

There are four priorities for the role:

1. Contribute to the delivery of investigations and other forensic and compliance projects in France, Europe and overseas.

2. Develop and apply technical expertise in conducting fraud, bribery, corruption and other white collar crime investigations.

3. Support senior colleagues in business development activities.

4. Work with other members of the worldwide Forensics team to build our presence and reputation in the market.

Time in the role is expected to be divided between four areas as set out below.

Technical Delivery (70% of Role)
  • Develop and exhibit technical competence in the delivery of forensic investigations and compliance engagements, notably in the analysis of financial data and supporting documentation.
  • Support the development of interview plans, and conduct and document interviews effectively.
  • Quickly absorb and apply detailed information on compliance policies, processes and procedures with a view to finding gaps, inconsistencies or other deficiencies.
  • Summarise complex financial and business issues in clear, concise reports.
  • Proactively manage time and seek opportunities to develop technical expertise.
Operational & Risk (10% of Role)
  • Support senior colleagues with project management activities, including ensuring delivery against scope, developing and monitoring budgets, and other administrative tasks.
  • Recognise and escape project risks and budget overruns in a timely manner, offering practical solutions and work arounds.
Business Development & Growth (10% of Role)
  • Support senior colleagues in business development, notably by helping to develop high-quality proposals.
  • Help identify opportunities and support marketing and other client-facing activities that build strong, long term client relationships.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the Forensics practice and the wider firm to build our presence and reputation in the market.
Professional Development (10% of Role)
  • Take ownership of personal development, including attending training and identifying areas in which to grow that also benefit the business, for example through innovative uses of AI.
  • Motivate and mentor junior members to achieve their full individual and team potential.
Knowledge and experience
  • A good level of relevant work experience, ideally in investigations, with familiarity in analysing financial evidence and data, transaction testing, and summarising complex financial and business issues in succinct reports.
  • Awareness of relevant rules and regulations, such as Sapin II, the FCPA and UK Bribery Act.
  • Experience with working effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to track projects consistently to ensure client deadlines are met.
Qualifications and specialist skills
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Experience in a consulting or professional services environment.
  • Fluency in French and English, both written and spoken.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A willingness to travel, sometimes at short notice and for extended periods.
  • A willingness to take on tasks that fall outside your core competency, as part of a dynamic and flexible organisation.
  • A self-starter, comfortable working independently as part of a wider team, who applies high levels of focus, concentration and commitment to demanding tasks.
  • Control Risks offers a competitively positioned compensation and benefits package that is transparent and summarised in the full job offer.
  • We operate a discretionary global bonus scheme that incentivises, and rewards individuals based on company and individual performance.
  • Control Risks supports hybrid working arrangements, wherever possible, that emphasise the value of in-person time together - in the office and with our clients - while continuing to support flexible and remote working.
  • As an equal opportunities employer, we encourage suitably qualified applicants from a wide range of backgrounds to apply and join us and are fully committed to equal treatment, free from discrimination, of all candidates throughout our recruitment process.

If you require any reasonable adjustments to be made in order to participate fully in the interview process, please let us know and we will be happy to accommodate your needs.
