We’re hiring an experienced Site Construction Manager to support a pioneering Floating Solar (PV) project near Lescheroux, France. This is a freelance contract role offering the opportunity to lead the on-site execution of one of France’s most forward-looking renewable energy developments—ensuring safety, quality, and schedule are upheld throughout construction.
You’ll take full responsibility for supervising all civil, mechanical, and floating system activities on site, working with subcontractors and engineering teams to drive the project forward to successful completion.
Contract: Full-time freelance
Location: Site-based in Lescheroux area (Ain department), France
Language: Fluent English required; French highly preferred
? Your Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day site operations across all construction phases (civil, mechanical, electrical, floating system)
Supervise subcontractors, ensuring safe and efficient work practices
Coordinate materials delivery, site logistics, and work sequencing
Monitor progress against schedule and report to Project Manager
Ensure compliance with HSE, quality, and environmental regulations
Liaise with engineering, QA/QC, and client teams to resolve on-site issues
Conduct regular site meetings and maintain accurate records of activities and delays
Proven experience as a Construction Manager or Site Supervisor on solar or infrastructure projects (floating PV is a plus)
Strong knowledge of renewable energy construction practices and HSE requirements
Ability to manage multiple subcontractors and construction disciplines simultaneously
Fluent in English; professional working proficiency in French is a major advantage
Able to work autonomously in a rural site environment
Must be eligible to work in France and possess a valid EU driving license
