Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of significant experience in industrial construction.
• Proven experience as Construction Manager or Site Construction Manager.
• Strong background in chemical, petrochemical, Oil & Gas or process industries.
• Experience in both new construction and revamping/brownfield projects.
• Multidisciplinary background: piping, mechanical, civil/structural, E&I.
• Experience in pre-commissioning and commissioning phases.
• French: fluent; English: professional working proficiency.
• GIES and ATEX site safety certifications mandatory.

Site Construction Manager – Chemical / Petrochemical Industry

Location: La Rochelle, France

Start: ASAP

Long-term assignment – until August 2027

Capefront Energies is looking for an experienced Site Construction Manager to support a major industrial project within the chemical / petrochemical sector in La Rochelle.

The position requires a strong field-oriented Construction Manager capable of taking overall responsibility for site construction activities in a multidisciplinary and high-HSE industrial environment.

Main Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate overall construction activities on site
• Supervise multidisciplinary construction teams, contractors and subcontractors
• Coordinate new-build and revamping/brownfield activities
• Ensure construction activities are performed in accordance with project requirements, drawings, specifications and applicable regulations
• Monitor construction progress, schedule, priorities and productivity
• Manage interfaces between the different construction disciplines
• Coordinate co-activity and work fronts on an operating industrial site
• Ensure compliance with HSE requirements and French site regulations
• Monitor quality of works and follow up inspections, punch lists and corrective actions
• Participate in construction meetings and provide regular progress reporting
• Coordinate with Engineering, Project Management, HSE, Quality and other project stakeholders
• Support pre-commissioning, commissioning and handover activities
• Follow contractors' scope of work and contractual obligations

Required Profile

• Minimum 10 years of significant experience in industrial construction
• Proven experience as Construction Manager / Site Construction Manager or equivalent
• Strong experience within the chemical, petrochemical, Oil & Gas or process industry
• Significant experience in both new construction and revamping/brownfield projects
• Strong multidisciplinary construction background: piping, mechanical, civil/structural, E&I or TCE
• Demonstrated experience managing contractors and multidisciplinary site teams
• Good knowledge of construction planning, progress monitoring, quality and HSE
• Experience in pre-commissioning / commissioning phases
• Strong understanding of French HSE regulations and high-risk industrial environments
• French: fluent/mandatory
• English: professional working proficiency
• GIES, ATEX and relevant site safety certifications are mandatory (GIES ATEX ECHAFAUDAGES)
