We are looking for a Communications & Marketing Officer
Location: Hammersmith
Hours: 35 Hours per week
Salary: £27,000 - £32,000
Contract: Fixed Term Contract: 9 months from the start date (with the possibility to extend, this role is due to an internal move to cover a maternity leave so the contract duration will be aligned with that)

Advance is an award-winning and innovative women-only organisation, established in 1998, providing emotional and practical support to women and girls survivors of domestic abuse and supporting women with short-term sentences to reduce offending. We believe in empowering women and girls to lead safe, non-violent, equal lives so that they can flourish and contribute to the community.

About The Role
- Develop and implement effective communications activities for external customers and stakeholders. Work with the Head of C&EA and services teams to ensure we produce quality communications targeted at our different audiences.
- Write and optimise content for the website, digital newsletters for stakeholders, print publications and social networking sites. Create visually appealing content, including graphics and multimedia, to enhance engagement and brand awareness.
- Manage and schedule social media content across platforms, ensuring brand and tone of voice. Ensure consistency in terms of voice, branding, messaging and frequency of posting via digital channels.
- Support external events management: such as creation of Eventbrite invitations, policy summary documents and marketing/fundraising materials.
- Design posters, leaflets and other marketing materials using Canva.
- Coordination of the production of publications such as an Annual Report and other key documents.
- Support and occasionally represent Advance at conferences, exhibitions, and events.
- Liaise with the colleagues to communicate matters of interest to stakeholders and wider audiences via contributions to for newsletters, Advance website, and relevant external publications.
About You
- Experience of using creative tools, digital platforms and techniques for engaging wide ranging audiences.
- Professional design experience of creating newsletters, leaflets, posters and other materials.
- Proficiency in Canva, Eventbrite, Mail Chimp, Hootsuite and You Tube.
- Professional experience of social media creation and monitoring for campaigns namely, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook and possibly also TikTok.
- Good written skills to write up news stories in a sensitive manner.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to proactively engage with a range of people and stakeholders including women the lived experience.
- Experience of and/or an interest in identifying and working with social media influencers and celebrity ambassadors to encourage them to support our campaigns.
- Must be able to occasionally travel to locations across the South and East of England.
