CAB Purchasing Business is characterized by a dynamic environment in direct contact with our customers’ needs through comfort, safety features, and both exterior and interior design. We manage instrument panels, steering wheels, seating, living features, interior and exterior plastics components, visibility components, and more.

With major new projects ongoing and a clear target to reduce our CO2 emissions, the cab driving team is at the forefront of the Volvo Group's transformation towards safer and cleaner transport solutions. Partnerships, global strategies, and new business models are key enablers for our success.

WHAT IS YOUR MISSION?

As a Commodity and Project Buyer, you will:

  • Drive all relevant activities to deliver QDCFTSR (*) targets during sourcing and project phases
  • Identify, mitigate, and monitor risks
  • Understand market specifics and business needs
  • Drive commercial negotiations with suppliers
  • Generate cost reduction ideas through deep dives and portfolio analysis
  • Lead cross-functional work to implement these ideas
  • Contribute to team development by sharing improvement ideas, supporting peers, sharing good cases, and seeking support when needed

*QDCFTSR: Quality, Delivery, Cost, Feature, Technology, Sustainability, and Risk Management

The job is located either in France (Lyon) or in Sweden (Gothenburg).

WHO ARE YOU?

You are an experienced buyer (>3 years), with a business-oriented mindset, combining financial and technical understanding. You enjoy engaging with skilled suppliers, possess good communication and networking skills, and are proactive in your work. You are adaptable, react well in complex environments, and work well in teams.
