JOB PURPOSE SUMMARY :

The Commodity Leader, reporting to the Commodity Manager, will have the following responsibilities:

  • Implement and support global commodity strategies for Indirect Procurement on Temporary Labour and General Services.
  • Support the indirect procurement network across sites to ensure adherence to commodity strategies.
  • Manage operational needs for HQ, including RFP processes.
  • Responsible for QCDT management for commodities.
  • Operational sourcing responsibilities, including negotiation and cross-site/business bundling.
  • Lead and animate the Saving Plan at a global level.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:

  • Manage global supplier RFQs from end-to-end.
  • Negotiate worldwide Frame Agreements with strong knowledge of legal clauses.
  • Ensure achievement of global QCDT targets and manage claims for global suppliers.
  • Adhere to Alstom's code of ethics and guidelines.

Commodity support:

  • Represent the commodity to support procurement maturity.
  • Consolidate commodity needs and inputs.
  • Contribute to differentiating Alstom through supplier innovation.
  • Participate actively in commodity strategy and panel development.
  • Manage RFQ processes for HQ.
  • Work effectively with internal customers and stakeholders.
  • Apply Alstom procurement processes and share lessons learned.
  • Participate in challenging procurement KPIs.

Operational involvement:

  • Manage operational activities for specific segments.
  • Monitor buyer activities within segments.
  • Handle procurement negotiations and contract management.
  • Lead the Saving Plan for commodities.

Performance measurements:

  • Savings P&L and Cost to Complete.
  • Non-Conformities Report and On-Time Delivery.
  • FAI (First Article Inspection) on time.

PROFILE:

To be considered for this role, candidates should demonstrate the following skills, experience, and attributes:

Educational Degree

  • Business School or Engineering School with a Master's in Purchasing.

Technical Competencies required for the role

  • Approximately five years of purchasing experience.
  • Strong market knowledge of Temporary Labour and General Services commodities.
  • Legal knowledge.
  • Fluent in English (mandatory); French is a plus.
  • International background.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including indirect sourcing mindset, leadership, communication, and the ability to work with top management.
