Soa Risorse Umane, a Bonfiglioli Consulting group company specializing in recruitment and HR consulting, is seeking a commodity global manager for a leading manufacturer of industrial appliances. The company is headquartered in the United States and has several branches around the world. The successful candidate will be responsible for strategic management of assigned commodities/spend categories and will work within the supply chain team to develop and implement global sourcing strategies that support the business plan.
Responsibilities include finding, evaluating and selecting suppliers; negotiating pricing and supplier agreements; managing supplier relationships and risks; driving supplier performance using KPIs; building value-added relationships with stakeholders including suppliers; and providing management with information and activities relating to suppliers, materials, and markets for assigned commodities.

Responsibilities
- Develop and execute cross-functionally aligned global sourcing strategies for assigned commodities within the scope of authority and consistent with objectives, policies, and business priorities; ensure performance goals related to quality, total cost, and material or service availability.
- Set annual commodity management goals with regular progress updates and effectively communicate global commodity market information to the organization.
- Understand organization needs for alternate materials/suppliers; investigate alternates and make recommendations aligned with corporate and divisional goals.
- Conduct research on market dynamics, cost drivers, supplier business models, and historical spend to enhance negotiations for assigned categories and contracts.
- Evaluate existing and new suppliers for capabilities, quality systems, management and financial stability, cost competitiveness, responsiveness, collaboration, and innovation; identify opportunities to access supplier technologies.
- Demonstrate supplier proficiencies through core competency management.
- Measure and manage commodity and supplier performance using key measures and regularly communicate to key suppliers.
- Manage the lifecycle of sourcing and procurement projects, from planning and bid preparation to budget/forecasting, delivery specs, negotiation, contracting, invoicing, and reporting, in line with policies and objectives.
- Understand demand and supply constraints of commodities, consider tier 2 impacts, and set up successful global order plans for effective purchasing organization.
- Implement and manage long-term agreements delivering best-in-class quality, delivery, and lowest total cost.
- Develop and implement supplier strategies with action plans toward strategic partnerships and mitigation of underperforming suppliers.
- Regularly evaluate suppliers/commodities and identify progression to preferred partners or steps to remove non-performing suppliers.
- Lead business reviews with key suppliers.
Qualifications
- Procurement/Sourcing experience with the following commodity sets: electro-mechanical components, motors, air management, PCBA’s, wire/cable assemblies; metal fabrication, electro polishing, stamping, wire form; fasteners, injection mold plastics, hoses, extruded rubber, insulation, heat management; cleaning chemicals, blast chillers, oven accessories.
- Experience developing and implementing global sourcing strategies.
- Proven track record of identifying, initiating, and delivering year-over-year cost savings.
- Ability to develop, interpret, and make decisions from total cost of ownership models.
- Strong collaboration, networking, influencing, and organizational skills; ability to drive effective project execution.
- Practical knowledge of how supply chains work and ability to assess cost drivers of industrial processes.
- Team player with effective verbal and written communication; ability to ensure positive results with internal and external organizations.
- Robust problem-solving skills and ability to develop creative ideas and solutions.
- Strong analytical skills; ability to communicate technical information clearly.
- Experience in negotiating complex long-term agreements and increasing spend under management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint); Qlik is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, or Operations Management, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of five years’ experience in Supply Management, Materials Management, Purchasing, Manufacturing, or Engineering.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally (up to 15%).
- Change management experience in a lean manufacturing or Six Sigma environment is preferred.
- Purchasing experience in a high-mix, lower-volume industry is beneficial.
- Fluent English and a second language.
Pay range and compensation package
Work location: fully remote. Contract terms commensurate with experience.
