The Buyer reports to the Commodity Manager and ensures the deployment of commodity strategy projects, execution in line with QCDT objectives, and achievement of DFQ milestones.

He / She supports the global supplier panel relationship (supplier workload negotiation, specific agreements).

The main missions are:

• Support global supplier panel relationship
• Manage specific supplier panel relationships (negotiation of specific agreements, local supplier QCDT performances)
• Monitor day-to-day supplier performances and issues
• Manage initial issues before escalation to line manager
• Respect Alstom Transport code of ethics and guidelines

Commodity support on site:

• Consolidate commodity needs inputs
• Actively participate in commodity strategy and panel elaboration
• Provide inputs to build differentiation
• Support the Commodity Manager in tender phases
• Represent the commodities towards project platforms and solutions
• Work effectively with internal customers and stakeholders in problem-solving
• Apply the Alstom Transport sourcing process and provide feedback based on experience

Involvement in projects:

• Coordinate projects with all Metiers
• Prepare and launch Requests for Quotation with suppliers using standard tools
• Ensure work package sheet commitments are respected
• Prepare Business Awards

Profile

Educational requirements

• Business school or Engineering degree with a Master's in purchasing

Technical Knowledge / Experience

• Fluent English & international background; high-level English for negotiation
• Minimum of three years of working experience in purchasing

Behavioral and Technical Skills / Competencies

• Strong interpersonal skills (leadership, communication, ability to convince)
• Negotiation skills on price and contractual clauses
• Proficiency in Excel sourcing tools and adherence to Alstom processes
