Installation & Commissioning Engineer – Renewable Energy / BESS

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Installation & Commissioning Engineer to support the delivery of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. You will oversee installation activities, lead commissioning, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to a high technical standard. You will also support O&M activities when required.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement commissioning plans, procedures, and checklists.
• Coordinate commissioning works with construction, engineering, and OEM partners.
• Deliver all commissioning milestones on schedule.
• Carry out functional, performance, and reliability testing on PCS, BMS, and EMS systems.
• Validate integration of electrical, control, and communication systems.
• Perform grid compliance and performance verification testing.

Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare commissioning protocols, reports, punch lists, and handover documentation.
• Record non‑conformities and track corrective actions through to completion.

Troubleshooting & Support

• Diagnose and resolve technical issues during installation and commissioning.
• Provide support for subsystem integration challenges.
• Escalate complex issues to engineering teams or OEMs where needed.

Coordination

• Collaborate closely with project managers, construction teams, and external suppliers.
• Liaise with equipment vendors during testing and troubleshooting activities.
• Ensure systems are fully tested and ready for commercial operation.
• Support performance validation during the initial operation phase.

Qualifications & Experience

• Strong EHS understanding within electrical installation projects (RAMS / SHEQ / CDM).
• Experience working in electrical contracting or with BESS equipment.
• Desirable knowledge of renewables, battery storage, EV charging, PV, or general electrical installations.
