Commissioning Engineer – Energy Infrastructure Project (Onshore/Offshore)
Job Description:
As part of a major low-carbon infrastructure project in the UK, Vulcain Engineering is looking for a Commissioning Engineer to support pre-commissioning and commissioning preparation from the Home Office, followed by execution on-site. This role offers an opportunity to be part of a high-impact international EPC project involving advanced power generation and carbon capture systems.
Responsibilities:
Home Office Phase (Preparation – France)
• Support the commissioning team in preparation activities to ensure alignment with schedule, quality, and budget.
• Report any technical or safety concerns to the CSU Process Lead.
• Review vendor documentation to list and validate commissioning spares and tools.
• Develop commissioning folders and consumable requirements in coordination with chemical suppliers.
• Contribute to the systemization process using P&IDs and ensure complete tag allocation.
• Ensure commissioning test sheets cover all components of each sub-system.
• Assist with data organisation and tool gap analysis.
Site Execution Phase (UK – Teesside region)
• Depending on project needs, provide support in preservation, materials, or execution teams.
• Participate in start-up operations, troubleshooting, and field coordination.
• Support quality checks and validation processes.
• Maintain clear reporting and documentation.
Profile Required:
• Engineering background or relevant technical experience in the Oil & Gas or energy sector.
• At least 5 years of experience in commissioning or start-up activities on large industrial projects (onshore or offshore).
• Multidisciplinary mindset, with strong practical and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and coordination abilities.
• Proficiency in MS Office and document review software (PDF/Bluebeam), 3D model tools.
• Knowledge of commissioning databases/tools (e.g., EasyPlant, ICAPS) is a plus.
• English fluency (written and spoken) is mandatory.
• EU work permit required.
Location and Timeline:
• Home Office phase: France (remote/hybrid) – January 2025 to August 2026
• Site Execution phase: United Kingdom – August 2026 to September 2028
