An established international luxury retail group is seeking an accomplished Commercial Director to lead the commercial development, operational performance and future growth of one of its premium brands.
Reporting directly to the CEO, you will act as the senior business owner for the brand in France, with responsibility for revenue, profitability, retail performance, ecommerce and the overall customer experience.
This is a broad, hands-on leadership position for someone who combines premium retail expertise with strong commercial judgement, digital understanding and the ability to build structure within a fast-growing environment.
The role
You will take ownership of the brand’s day-to-day commercial performance and help shape its longer-term growth strategy. Working across retail, ecommerce, marketing, operations and customer experience, you will ensure that commercial plans are translated into measurable results.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Owning revenue, profitability, forecasting and overall commercial performance.
- Delivering sustainable growth across retail and ecommerce channels.
- Setting commercial targets and establishing clear performance measures.
- Improving sales, margin, operating efficiency and return on investment.
- Leading showroom and retail operations across the French market.
- Driving store productivity, including conversion, sales per associate, appointment performance and footfall efficiency.
- Maintaining a consistently premium customer experience across all locations.
- Identifying opportunities to improve, optimise and expand the retail network.
- Owning ecommerce trading performance within France.
- Improving digital traffic, conversion, customer acquisition, average order value, repeat purchase and CRM performance.
- Working with marketing, digital and technology teams to improve campaign effectiveness and acquisition efficiency.
- Challenging performance across CAC, ROAS, conversion funnels and customer lifecycle activity.
- Creating a seamless customer journey across online discovery, appointment booking, showroom experience, purchase and ongoing client engagement.
- Providing commercial input into product assortment, merchandising, pricing and promotional planning.
- Supporting demand planning, stock optimisation and inventory efficiency.
- Monitoring commercial KPIs and acting quickly to address risks or underperformance.
- Overseeing local marketing execution and ensuring activity supports commercial priorities.
- Identifying growth opportunities across channels, partnerships, locations and customer segments.
- Building, leading and developing high-performing commercial and operational teams.
- Creating a culture of accountability, pace, collaboration and execution excellence.
About you
You will bring approximately 10–12 years or more of experience within senior commercial, retail, ecommerce or omnichannel leadership roles.
You should be able to demonstrate:
- Proven ownership of revenue, growth, profitability and P&L performance.
- Strong multi-site retail or showroom experience.
- Experience leading ecommerce or digital trading performance.
- A strong understanding of omnichannel customer journeys.
- Knowledge of performance-marketing economics, including CAC, ROAS and conversion.
- Experience using CRM and customer-lifecycle activity to improve retention and repeat purchase.
- Strong commercial, financial and analytical capability.
- The ability to interpret performance data and translate it into practical action.
- Experience building structure and scalable processes within a growing or evolving organisation.
- Strong leadership, influencing and stakeholder-management skills.
- A hands-on and pragmatic management style.
- The ability to balance strategic thinking with detailed operational execution.
Experience within luxury, premium retail, fashion, beauty, jewellery or another high-consideration consumer category would be particularly relevant.

The opportunity
This is a genuine senior business leadership role with substantial influence over the direction and performance of a premium consumer brand.
You will have the opportunity to build structure, improve commercial discipline, develop the customer proposition and help shape the brand’s next stage of growth.
The final package is expected to be between €100,000 and €140,000, depending on experience. The balance between fixed and variable compensation will be confirmed during the process.
