The Team:

The Legal team supports Datadog's rapid growth by providing a wide range of legal services across a highly dynamic technology company, from driving new business via contracts and compliance efforts, to protecting Datadog's offerings. Datadog's Legal team collaborates with virtually every team across the organization, from engineering to product to marketing. Within the Legal team, the Commercial, Alliances & Procurement Legal team is mainly focusing on all commercial engagements, channel & alliances agreements, procurement matters and all related legal topics.

The Opportunity:

Join our EMEA Commercial, Alliances & Procurement Legal team to support the organization on various legal-related matters. This role would support the negotiation of revenue generating contracts for our customers in the EMEA region, in direct and/or indirect models through channel & alliances agreements. Depending on the profile, this role could lead and/or participate to cross-functional and compliance project. This customer-facing role will involve close collaboration with cross-functional teams such as sales, deal desk, privacy, customer trust, procurement, and product legal, serving as a trusted advisor known for providing strong solutions and practical advice. Moreover, this position will offer exposure to cutting-edge SaaS technology areas such as privacy, security, and AI/ML, allowing you to stay at the forefront of the industry. Additionally, this role will have a particular focus on vendor-related work, ensuring compliance and efficiency in our procurement process.

What You’ll Do:

  • Draft, review and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements to support customer sales and growth-driven relationships with channel partners.
  • Negotiate and manage vendor-related contracts in EMEA, ensuring alignment with company policies and legal standards.
  • Partner with a seasoned legal team to provide practical and decisive guidance to internal business teams.
  • Coach sales team members on strategies for negotiating with EMEA customers, including leading the delivery of occasional internal training sessions.
  • Stay current on industry, commercial, intellectual property, open source, privacy and other EMEA laws, regulations, and developments to be able to give the most effective advice.
  • Support the ongoing improvement of our contract templates in line with emerging laws and regulations across the EMEA region.
  • Advise on the compliance issues in the region, and lead and/or contribute to related cross-functional projects.
  • Collaborate with other teams within Legal and across the company to support Datadog’s acceleration of revenue and reduction of risk.
  • Liaise with and advise other Datadog stakeholders across the EMEA, including those in Deal Desk, Procurement.

Who You Are:

  • A qualified attorney with approximately 5+ years of legal experience, including 3+ years in SaaS transactions or the IT sector, and ideally 2+ years working on procurement-related work.
  • Fluent in both English and French, with excellent communication skills in both languages.
  • Familiar with technology, privacy, and intellectual property laws, with a first successful experience in facing customers in complex technology negotiations.
  • Experienced in procurement contract negotiations, particularly in France, with a solid understanding of legal aspects to be considered in these activities.
  • High integrity and strong judgment, with the ability to articulate well-reasoned points of view.
  • Well-organized, process-oriented, and adept at recognizing when matters need escalation within the legal team or when guidance is required.
  • Enjoys supporting, collaborating with, and educating colleagues.
  • Excited to drive contracts to closure and are comfortable partnering with clients in sales, where you will prioritize multiple deals simultaneously while supporting tight deadlines.
  • Able to work from vibrant offices in Paris, or eventually Dublin or London.
  • Proficiency in additional languages is a plus, but not mandatory.
