Description:

Reporting to the North America DOC Director, the Commercial Contract Services Manager (NA/GISV) is a critical leadership role responsible for guiding and developing the team that provides contractual support to the Sales organization as outlined by the Operating Procedure and in alignment with Legal Department guidelines. You will lead a team of Contracts Generalists, Specialists, and Experts, fostering a culture of excellence, partnership, and continuous improvement. This role is responsible for the overall performance and operational efficiency of the commercial contracts function supporting NA and GISV, acting as a key advisor to Sales leadership and ensuring the team effectively manages risk while accelerating deal velocity.

Responsibilities
  • Leadership & Mentorship

    Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of contracts professionals at all levels (Generalist, Specialist, Expert), driving performance through effective coaching and targeted career development.

  • Spearhead the talent lifecycle

    Recruiting, hiring, and onboarding new members to build a scalable and expert organization.

  • Workload management & SLAs

    Manage team workload, set clear performance expectations, and ensure the consistent achievement of departmental Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

  • Team culture

    Foster a collaborative and engaging team environment that encourages knowledge sharing and professional growth.

Operational & Contractual Excellence
  • Contract drafting & negotiation

    Oversee the contract drafting and negotiation process for the commercial sales organization, ensuring quality, accuracy, and compliance across all agreements.

  • Escalation & guidance

    Act as the primary escalation point for the most complex contractual and commercial issues, providing expert guidance to both the team and the Sales organization, working with Legal/Operations/Risk/Compliance.

  • Continuous improvement

    Drive the continuous improvement of contract templates, processes, and policies to increase efficiency and reduce friction in the sales cycle.

  • Metrics & reporting

    Analyze team performance and key metrics to identify trends, forecast needs, and report on the effectiveness of the contracts function to senior leadership.

Strategic Partnership & Collaboration
  • Deal structuring & risk

    Serve as a trusted partner to Sales leadership, providing strategic advice on deal structuring, negotiation tactics, and contractual risk.

  • Cross-functional relationships

    Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key cross-functional partners, including Legal, Finance, and Operations, to facilitate seamless end-to-end deal execution.

  • Strategic participation

    Represent the contracts function in cross-departmental meetings and strategic initiatives, ensuring the team's perspective is considered in broader business decisions.

Qualifications
  • Language Proficiency

    Mandatory fluency in English; preferred fluency in other international languages, with superior proficiency in both written and oral communication

  • Education/Experience

    Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, or a related field, with a minimum of 7+ years of progressive experience in contracts management, or a related field. Requires at least 3+ years of direct people management experience.

  • Industry Experience

    Prior experience directly supporting a commercial Sales team in a contractual capacity, preferably in a services or high-tech based industry, with a strong ability to understand sales processes and adhere to internal procedures.

  • Leadership & Team Development

    Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop a team of professionals with varying levels of experience, with a strong track record of building high-performing teams.

  • Expert Contractual Acumen

    Mastery of drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of complex commercial agreements (e.g., SaaS, Professional Services, Partnerships) and a deep understanding of associated risks and legal implications.

  • Strategic & Analytical Thinking

    A strategic thinker with the ability to analyze complex situations, make data-driven decisions, and implement effective operational improvements.

  • Communication & Influence

    Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the proven ability to influence and build credibility with senior leadership and cross-functional partners.

  • Program & Project Management

    Proven experience leading projects from conception to completion, managing stakeholders and timelines effectively.

  • Technical Proficiency

    Expertise with CRM (Salesforce.com is highly preferred) and Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) systems. Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office.
