About the role

We're looking for a highly experienced backend software engineer to work on our most popular product: the portfolio tracker.

Your role will be to work on the Ruby on Rails backend stack:

1. Design & implement scalable, efficient backend solutions and APIs, ensuring high performance and reliability across our platform.
2. Provide technical guidance to less experienced developers, fostering a collaborative environment that promotes learning and professional growth.
3. Identify areas for improvement in the backend codebase, refactoring, and optimizing for better performance and maintainability.
4. Engage closely with frontend, design, and product teams to ensure that backend solutions align with overall product goals and user needs.
5. Ensure that backend infrastructure is scalable and optimized for performance, security, and cost-efficiency.
6. Set up automated testing, monitoring, and alert systems to ensure backend stability and swift resolution of issues.

You’d be a great fit if you demonstrate:

1. Proven expertise in Ruby on Rails.
2. 5+ years in a backend role in product-driven organizations.
3. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
4. Experience in architecting scalable systems and optimizing performance.
5. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
6. A commitment to continuous learning and embracing change.
7. Adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment.
8. Like to take initiative and find new creative solutions to problems.
9. Are fluent in English (written and spoken).
10. Know Rust language.
11. Play competitive sports.
12. Are comfortable with product analytics (Amplitude is a plus).
13. Are passionate about personal finance.
14. Have an excellent eye for aesthetics.
