Job summary

OpenAI is seeking an Applied AI Engineer focused on Codex for startups. You will help developers transform how they build and ship software by combining hands-on engineering, startup experience, and clear technical communication.

You’ll lead technical talks, live demos, workshops, and programs across the startup ecosystem, build Codex workflows with customers, and translate experiences into reusable tools and insights for product and engineering teams.

Qualifications

Experience with early-stage startups and understanding of the pace, ambiguity, and trade-offs involved.
Strong software engineering fundamentals and ability to build practical AI applications, integrations, and developer tools.
Active user of Codex or other AI coding tools with perspective on improvement opportunities.
Ability to present, deliver live demos, and lead hands-on workshops for developers and founders.
Ability to turn complex technical ideas into clear explanations with concrete examples.
Ability to uncover team needs, troubleshoot, and help adopt reliable workflows.

Responsibilities

Partner with top startups to identify Codex impact on how teams build and ship software.
Design and lead talks, demos, workshops, and hands-on programs to drive adoption.
Work with customers to build Codex workflows, integrations, and automations; resolve blockers.
Create reusable code examples, guides, and tools for broader Codex adoption.
Collaborate with account teams to reach developers and drive measurable value.
Translate customer feedback into actionable insights for Product, Research, and Engineering teams.
