Job summary

Foth seeks a team-focused Environmental Regulatory & Grants Specialist to support coastal and waterfront projects through regulatory permitting, environmental compliance, funding strategy, and grant administration. The role may be based in any Midwest Foth office with limited travel.

The ideal candidate is highly organized with strong technical writing and communication skills, capable of navigating regulatory environments and securing funding for infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Policy, Planning, Natural Resources, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in environmental permitting, regulatory compliance, grant development, or related areas.
• Experience obtaining and managing permits and coordinating regulatory review processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop, write, review, and submit grant applications with sponsor compliance.
• Manage grant administration from application to post-award reporting.
• Lead environmental permitting and regulatory compliance for coastal/waterfront projects.
• Prepare and coordinate local, state, and federal permit applications and approvals.
• Conduct NEPA analyses, EIS, EA, Biological Assessments, technical reports, and field observations.
• Identify and pursue federal, state, and private funding opportunities.
• Provide funding strategy support to municipalities, agencies, and project teams.
• Build relationships with regulatory agencies, funding organizations, clients, and stakeholders.
• Coordinate environmental investigations and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Prepare reports, implementation plans, and client-facing materials.
• Monitor evolving regulations and funding programs for new opportunities.
• Assist in planning, reporting, and procurement activities as needed.
