Amazon is seeking a Software Development Manager to own the engineering backbone of security automation across our cloud platform. You will lead a team of Software Development Engineers, set technical direction, and deliver a scalable workflow engine and API gateway in production for the European Sovereign Cloud region.

You will partner with Security Engineering and cross-functional teams to drive reliability, availability, and operational excellence while growing talent and shaping the roadmap

Qualifications

• Experience managing and growing a team of software development engineers.
• Experience in software development with at least one programming language (Python, Java, or TypeScript).
• Experience owning and operating production services with on-call responsibilities.
• Experience defining technical roadmaps, prioritizing engineering work, and delivering against deadlines with a team.
• Experience partnering across disciplines (security, operations, product) to align engineering work with business outcomes.

Responsabilités

• Lead and grow a team of Software Development Engineers responsible for the core platforms our security automation runs on.
• Own the technical direction, operational excellence, and delivery roadmap for multiple production services (workflow engine, API gateway, data infrastructure).
• Partner daily with a Security Engineering manager to ensure SDEs and SecEngs collaborate as embedded squads.
• Drive architectural decisions balancing rapid delivery with long-term platform reliability at scale.
• Ensure operational readiness and support for security services deployed in the European Sovereign Cloud.
• Hire, develop, and retain strong engineers; set growth paths, conduct code reviews, and foster ownership.
• Own an on-call rotation focused on platform health and availability.
