JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsible for certification of the centers, physicians, and other related staff, as well as Edwards Lifesciences (EW) personnel, in accordance with EW Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Develops clinical education materials in connection with clinical investigations. Provides expertise and clinical insights on the device, procedure, and protocol throughout the lifecycle of the clinical investigation.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Clinical Field Specialist (CFS) will be based in Paris, France, near a major airport or TGV train station (location to be confirmed). They will work under the strategic guidance of the Business Unit Manager (BUM) and the operational guidance of the Sales Manager. The primary role is to support the development of our technologies, including our innovative Predictive Monitoring Technology, in the Operating Room and ICU settings.

Additionally, the CFS will:

  • Run training programs for technical staff, nurses, and doctors.
  • Shadow clinical staff and support the use and adoption of the technology platform in the Operating Room and ICU.
  • Provide education and support in the adoption of Edwards Cardiac Output monitoring systems and related technologies.
  • Educate and train physicians and hospital staff on technical matters related to products and procedures via training sessions and structured education programs.
  • Plan and implement growth strategies within targeted accounts in partnership with Sales teams.
  • Support and organize educational seminars and meetings.
  • Coordinate activities with Sales Managers and account managers.
  • Provide follow-up support to physicians and medical staff throughout procedures to ensure continuity of education and technical support.
  • Organize "train the trainer" sessions at customer locations to establish internal training platforms.
  • Validate software and hardware updates in the field as applicable.
  • Review clinical support activities, market changes, and competitive activity regularly with the NSM and Sales Specialists.
  • Learn about products, physiology, anatomy, and market applications related to Edwards Lifesciences.
  • Interact with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and proctors.
  • Be prepared to travel extensively across the East region of France, including Nancy, Colmar, Strasbourg, Dijon, Besançon, Lyon, Grenoble, Marseille, Nice, and Montpellier, with up to 3-4 nights away per week.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in technical or clinical anesthesiology or as an intensivist nurse (IADE) in the operating room or ICU environment. Previous experience in training and education programs is required. The candidate should be self-motivated, passionate about success, and results-driven. Demonstrating empathy, understanding, and tolerance, along with strong communication skills, is essential. A willingness to learn innovative technologies, proficiency in English, and the ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment are also required. Good problem-solving and critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal skills are necessary. The candidate should be able to work effectively in a team and be located in Paris or Lyon.
