Our purpose is to deliver best-in-class claims services through an inclusive and empowered workforce, which helps our clients be resilient when a loss occurs.

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for someone to join the Paris Office Claims Department as a Loss Adjuster, based in Paris Office and reporting to the Operations Claims Manager.

  • Providing direction and assistance to the client with loss mitigation, salvaging, restoring production, claims preparation and subrogation.
  • Managing and controlling consultants, working with the adjustment teams to ensure the successful handling of their assigned losses.
  • Conducting pre-loss visits and policyholder workshops.

Responsibilities include:

  • Handling losses, mainly large property damage, as well as some time element and liability to be determined for losses across a variety of perils and high hazard occupancies that occur within the Operations geographical area, or as otherwise directed by the Operations Claims Manager.
  • Consulting with the Insured's top management and offering direction and assistance in loss mitigation, cleaning-up, salvaging, restoring production and claims preparation.
  • Working with the adjustment team and engaging recognized accountants, consultants, engineers, or salvage experts.
  • Identifying legal needs and recommending engagement of attorneys where subrogation is involved.
  • Negotiating with the insured to reconcile differences of opinion about the extent of loss and/or coverage to reach a quick, equitable and fair settlement as promptly as possible.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, insurance, finance or business and 3 years of experience at FM or equivalent external experience.
  • Competencies in project management and high aptitude for negotiation.
  • Detail oriented, with excellent time management, planning, organization, and analytical skills.

  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (verbally and in writing) in both French and English. Spanish, Portuguese or Italian would be a plus.
  • The position is office based with required field work. The candidate must be willing to travel, sometimes with short notice, and work out of town as needed to effectively manage assigned losses.
