Job summary

RS&H is looking for a Civil Field Engineer / CEI Inspector to oversee on-site construction activities on road and bridge projects in Texas. You will monitor contractor operations, inspect materials, and ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and contract documents.

Strong communication and teamwork are essential as you support safe, quality construction. The role requires an ABET-accredited degree in Civil Engineering or related field, with certifications such as EIT, DOT, and OSHA 10,

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree in civil engineering or related field.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must obtain required certifications in timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Maintain detailed records of contractor operations and events.
• Monitor work zone traffic control and erosion control plans.
• Perform sampling and testing of materials and completed work.
• Verify dimensions of prepared and completed work.
• Inspect construction work and conduct field tests.
• Track work quantities for payment.
• Perform survey checks.
