The Paris Peace Forum is looking for a Childhood Initiative Officer to bolster its Policy team. This role involves supporting policy development, organizing events related to children, and monitoring international developments affecting resources for child development.

The successful candidate should hold a Master’s degree, have at least two years of relevant experience, and be fluent in both French and English. A fixed-term contract for six months is offered, with a salary ranging from €33,000 to €35,000 annually.

The Paris Peace Forum is a multi-stakeholder platform launched in 2018 that aims to respond to global challenges. Throughout the year, the Forum works to strengthen the governance of global commons such as climate, space or oceans, and to improve international management of global challenges, particularly those of digital and disruptive technologies. Its annual event, in November, brings together heads of state, government and international organizations, as well as leaders of civil society and the private sector, to discuss political initiatives and concrete projects, with an emphasis on the participation of the global South.

The team of the permanent secretariat of the association, composed of varied and diverse profiles (diplomacy, public relations, communication, programming, operations, etc.), is currently looking for a Childhood initiative Officer to reinforce its Policy team.

The person recruited will be responsible for the following tasks:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Support for policy development work:

• Support the Manager of the ‘Child Priority Framework’ initiative: preparing working groups, drafting minutes, assisting with the consolidation of metrics and key indicators for child wellbeing, attending meetings, drafting summary notes, and maintaining links with the child wellbeing ecosystem.
• Support the building of a private sector coalition for children and the preparation of concrete deliverables for the next edition of the Paris Peace Forum (11–12 November)

Support for the organisation of events related to children:

• Support the development of the various segments of the ‘Childhood Summit’ scheduled for the next Paris Peace Forum (11–12 November): invitations, preparation of sessions, active participation in the event.
• Contribute to the preparation of the various events organised by the initiative leading up to the Paris Peace Forum, both in person and online.

Monitoring, communication and fundraising:

• Monitor developments in the international political, economic and financial landscape in order to build expertise in this area, identify opportunities and anticipate challenges relating to the allocation of resources for child development;
• Assist with communication and public relations work;
• Support fundraising efforts and maintain relationships with the initiative’s partners.

PROFILE

• Education Level: Master’s Degree (Bac +5)
• Areas of specialisation: international relations, political science, development economics, health, education or a related field;
• At least two years’ experience in the design, analysis and implementation of public policies or international development projects, ideally with expertise in development finance, international cooperation, or fields related to health and education.

SKILLS & QUALITIES REQUIRED

• Excellent analytical and summarizing skills;
• Excellent ability to draft policy documents and high-level reports;
• Fluency in written and spoken French and English (minimum C2 level);
• Ability to work on complex projects in an international environment with tight deadlines;
• Ability to work as part of a team and to manage interactions with high-level contacts.

CONDITIONS

Fixed-term contract for a period of 6 months with a starting date of 15 June 2026.

Compensation : 33 000€ to 35 000€ a year, based on profile.

Meal tickets and reimbursement of 50% of the cost of transportation.

The offices of the permanent secretariat of the Paris Peace Forum are located in Paris (15th arrondissement). It will be possible to telecommute for a maximum of 2 days per week, subject to approval by management.
