In this role, you will lead the vision and delivery of a significant global eCommerce platform generating substantial revenue. The ideal candidate has over 8 years of digital product leadership experience, particularly within transactional environments. Strong understanding of web architecture and experience managing cross-functional teams are essential. This position offers the chance to innovate on a global scale and requires fluency in English.

Job Description

Our global end client is a world-leading company with a presence in 100+ countries worldwide, generating billions EUR in annual sales. Renowned for their premium products and services, the company serves customers through direct sales, comprehensive services, and cutting-edge digital platforms.

As Chief Product Owner, you will own the vision, architecture, and product delivery of a global website, eCommerce engine, and self-service portal that together billions in annual revenue. This is not a surface-level marketing site — it’s a fully composable, transaction-grade platform operating across 50+ countries.

This is a global role and fluency in English is required.

You’ll drive platform evolution, technical roadmap coherence, and agile product delivery across the entire customer lifecycle — from first search to order tracking and repeat purchase. Your leadership will ensure the platform scales with global demand while delivering seamless, secure, and fast experiences for every user, every time.

THE ROLE

1. Own the Global Digital Platform

Define and evolve the technical product vision for the global website, portal, and eCommerce layers.

Translate commercial goals into scalable, performant platform capabilities across all phases of the user journey.

Lead end-to-end delivery of cross-functional initiatives (e.g. headless migration, checkout redesign, global self-service).

2. Full Journey Leadership : Pre-Purchase → Purchase → Post-Purchase

Oversee dedicated product teams across :

Pre-Purchase : Search, CMS, navigation, personalization, SEO

Purchase : Checkout, payment, identity, pricing engines

Post-Purchase : Orders, invoices, claims, reorders, account management

Guarantee end-to-end UX consistency, while enabling regional flexibility through modular architecture.

3. Leadership & Governance

Manage large teams including Product Owners with agile delivery squads.

Partner with Engineering, Architecture, Cloud, Security, and Data teams to ship robust and secure products.

Run product planning and platform reviews with leadership team

4. Platform Performance & Decision Ownership

Define and monitor platform KPIs : Conversion Rate, Time-to-Market, Core Web Vitals, API uptime, Self-Service adoption.

Prioritize and manage a global backlog focused on value, velocity, and scalability.

Champion modern architecture : Headless, Composable, MACH principles, microservices, API-first.

YOUR PROFILE

Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or IT.

Deep understanding of modern web architecture, cloud platforms, security principles, and digital commerce mechanics.

8+ years in digital product leadership roles, including 5+ years owning transactional B2B or B2B2C platforms.

Proven ownership of eCommerce or digital service portals with >

100m+ annual revenue.

Technical fluency : you can challenge engineers on architecture, APIs, latency, and solution trade-offs.

Ability to operate at both strategic and detailed levels — from OKRs to endpoint performance.

A knowledge of SAP Commerce Cloud, Salesforce B2B Commerce, or similar enterprise commerce stack.
