Job summary

SoFa, Paris, is seeking a strategic operator to design and run the company OS for a small, fast-growing team. You will develop an initial Chief of Staff AI agent to pull topics from email, calendars, and documents into founders' agendas, then extend the system with functional skills.

You will work closely with a founder, own the operating rhythm, and shape both product and company culture from the ground up. Fluency in English and French is essential.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in strategy consulting, a fast-growing start-up (operations, BizOps, founder's associate) or a technical product role.
• Built AI agents or automations that others use in their work, with Claude, ChatGPT, Python or similar, and can walk us through one including where it failed and how you corrected it.
• You are not a software engineer, but you are comfortable with code.
• You write clearly in English and French. A decision memo from you lets a founder decide in five minutes.
• You handle confidential information (fundraising, hiring, contracts) with judgement, and you disagree with arguments when priorities collide.
• You have your own view on where AI is going, and you want to help build a company from the ground up.

SoFa is building auditable, reliable AI-powered software tools that move beyond black-box coding assistants. The platform breaks software work into small, specialized modules—some deterministic, some using large language models—with every step fully traced. This approach gives engineering teams the speed of AI while preserving transparency, quality, and control, which is especially valuable for fast-growing companies and regulated industries. SoFa is currently assembling its founding team in Paris, offering the opportunity to shape both the product and the company’s culture from the ground up.

The Problem

We intend to run SoFa by the same logic as the product. But while we are each using AI to increase our efficiency, our individual set-ups do not scale as a team. Every new hire adds coordination work.

If we do not design the operating system now, we will end up with the meetings, reporting lines and manual handoffs we want to avoid. We need someone who builds that system, not someone who runs the old one faster.
