EUROAPI recherche un expert en chimie pour soutenir son innovation en chimie organique. Ce rôle essentiel se concentre sur la stratégie scientifique dans le cadre d'initiatives novatrices, en collaboration avec des partenaires externes et équipes internes. Vous serez responsable d'analyser des données scientifiques, de proposer des stratégies de synthèse, et de mentorat, tout en contribuant à l'excellence de la R&D.

Qualifications

  • Doctorat en chimie organique, complété par une expérience post-doctorale.
  • Au moins 5 ans d'expérience dans un environnement industriel dynamique.
  • Expertise en évaluation des données scientifiques et en gestion de projets complexes.

Join a centre of R&D excellence where we work passionately to develop, manufacture and deliver active ingredient solutions for our healthcare partners around the world. You'll ensure we stay ahead of the innovation curve and lead the way in developing sustainably active pharmaceutical ingredients in Europe and beyond, to the highest quality standards.

The Chemistry innovation expert reports to the Open innovation and IPCEI leader within the R&D organization. The position is based at the headquarters in Paris. You may have a hybrid working arrangement with 2 days of presence every 15 days.

As part of the deployment of its innovation roadmap, EUROAPI wishes to strengthen its scientific expertise by recruiting an expert in Chemistry, specialized in organic chemistry, to support the development of innovative projects mostly in conjunction with external partners (academic, industrial, start-ups).

This key position aims to support the scientific excellence of the R&D organization, develop research efforts in open innovation mode and accelerate the skills development of internal teams.

The Chemistry innovation expert is especially responsible for the scientific strategy of the Chemical workstream of an unprecedented innovation initiative called IPCEI that aims at reinventing current production processes with a strong focus on competitiveness and environmental performance enhancement. It is composed of 3 projects each of them focused on a specific technological area and managed by a project manager.

The Chemistry innovation expert will work in strong collaboration with the Senior Innovation Project Manager in charge of the IPCEI Chemistry Workstream.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Scientific support for innovation projects in organic chemistry, in connection with the strategic roadmap of EUROAPI.

Scientific and technological intelligence : analysis of literature, patents, and emerging trends.

Proposal of new synthesis strategies, partners scouting and selection, projects set up and management

Active collaboration with project management in collaboration with internal teams and external partners to ensure scientific excellence.

In-depth technical review of projects : critical analysis of experimental data, plans of experience, and results.

Targeted mentoring with selected collaborators to strengthen internal skills.

Creation of inter-team synergies and promotion of collaborative work.

Education / Experience

Doctorate with specialization in organic chemistry, complemented by a post-doc

Minimum 5 years of experience in a dynamic industrial environment like CDMO, with strong exposure to innovation projects, possibly in connection with external collaborations (open innovation, public-private partnerships, etc.).

Technical skills & Behavioral Competencies

Extensive expertise in organic chemistry : synthesis, reaction mechanisms, catalysis, process development.

Ability to evaluate and integrate disruptive technologies (green chemistry, automation, AI applied to chemistry, etc.) into projects.

Mastery of scientific bibliography and patent databases (SciFinder, Reaxys, Espacenet, etc.) to provide projects with relevant and up-to-date data.

Experience in managing complex scientific projects, with an ability to structure, prioritize and pilot actions in multidisciplinary environments.

Ability to challenge experimental data and propose methodological or strategic alternatives

Pedagogue and popularizer : able to simplify complex scientific concepts to make them accessible to various audiences (internal teams, partners, management).

Natural scientific leadership : inspires confidence, federates around scientific rigor and technical excellence.

Strength of proposal : proactive, creative, able to identify innovation opportunities and transform them into concrete projects.

Critical and constructive spirit : knows how to challenge established approaches while respecting team dynamics.

High adaptability : comfortable in complex environments, rapidly evolving, with interlocutors with varied profiles (scientific, business, regulatory...).

Taste for collaborative work : creates bridges between teams, promotes cross-functional exchanges and collective dynamics.

Excellent oral and written communication skills in French and English
