Location of the Post:

There is currently one permanent, whole-time vacancy available in Social Inclusion, Substance Misuse Services – Integrated Alcohol Programme, Clonskeagh Hospital, Dublin 6.

A panel may be formed as a result of this campaign for Grade VII, Social Inclusion, Substance Misuse and Integrated Alcohol Lead IHA Dublin South & Wicklow from which current and future, permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full or part-time duration may be filled.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Integrated Alcohol Programme.
  • Complete data reports and ensure that the service is meeting its KPI requirements.
  • Support the Social Inclusion manager across all business operations.
  • Manage clinical, professional, clerical and administrative staff.
  • Implement new policies and directives.
  • Participate in the recruitment, selection, appraisal and development of staff.
  • Liaise and negotiate with medical and non-medical staff and with people in external organisations, e.g. social services, voluntary groups or the private sector.
  • To manage a multi-disciplinary team and to provide support, advice and direction as required.
  • To co-ordinate, develop and maintain prevention, harm reduction, treatment and aftercare service initiatives to tackle drug and alcohol related problems in the Community Care Area.
  • To implement the relevant National Drugs Strategy and National Rehabilitation Framework.
  • To participate on the Homeless Action Team and work in a partnership and interagency way to support homeless service providers.
  • To actively promote the rolling out of the National Rehabilitation Framework (NDRIC).
  • It is expected in the normal course of events that the role will evolve as professional and service demands change.
