General Overview
As the resort
Chalet Assistant/Handyman/Driver you will be an integral part of the SkiWeekends team. The set up and shut-down periods will be particularly busy for you, moving supplies between chalets and performing pre/end-season checks on all properties as well as cleaning. During the season you will be expected to help with the transfer day,
service and cleaning in your chalet as well as front-of-house jobs (table service) You may be expected to help with other duties in the chalets during the week if the CM (Chalet Manager) requires you to. In larger chalets you will be on a Rota basis. Two days off included. (or 1 full day and 2 half days)
Skills And Attributes
- Positive attitude, demonstrating a consistent “can do” and “nothing is too much trouble” approach.
- As handy man (if applicable) you will be required to basic repairs, woodwork, locks, change light bulbs and unblock sinks hence have basic knowledge of house maintenance.
- Focused, self-motivated and responsible.
- Team player and able to live and work with other people.
- Good understanding of customer service.
- A logical approach to problem solving and the ability to prioritize workload.
- Basic cooking experience
- DRIVER: must be over 23 years old and have an impeccable driving license.
- Have experience driving a minibus in Europe especially in winter.
Principal Responsibilities
- Ensure that our high company standards are always maintained and that all procedures and codes of practice are adhered to.
- Attend regular meetings with the Chalet Manager to discuss workloads/priorities.
- Pre-season and end of season chalet checks and set up (and deep cleaning)
- Maybe required to help with breakfast cooking and help making cakes.
- During delivery days may be required to help and lead distribution (stock & linen)
- The dining rooms set up and clearing of the tables for dinner or breakfast.
- Required to clear up breakfast on staff day off on a rotating basis (approx. once a month)
- Ad-hoc maintenance as required. .
- Hot tub maintenance (if applicable)
- Flexibility to assist with chalet duties/snow clearing as required.
- Must always be smart and presentable
- Be on call in case of emergency.
- Check on security of chalets.
- Driver : (if applicable) must drive guests to the hire shop and other driving duties.
- Must keep vehicle clean and roadworthy and compliant with French law.
- Any other work that may be reasonably requested by the Company.
