Job Description

Within the Schneider Toshiba Inverter Europe (STIE) business unit, the “Drives” activity develops variable speed drives and soft starters for rotating machines, designed to provide specialized servo-controls and flexible, scalable plant management. These products and services encompass solutions for the industrial, infrastructure, and building sectors.

Your role:

Reporting to the head of the Hardware Validation department (Mourad) and working as part of a 14-strong team based in Pacy-Sur-Eure (27), you will be responsible for carrying out Hardware Certification tests in accordance with international standards and requirements (UL, CSA, CB-Scheme, CE, etc.). You will also participate in internal and external audits to ensure the accreditation of our test laboratories and maintain our certification and validation processes at the highest level.

Your missions:

  • Conduct tests to ensure product and solution compliance with specifications, standards, and requirements such as IECEE, UL, CSA, CE, etc.
  • Execute tests in areas like electrotechnics, mechanics, electronics, and EMC, respecting customer needs and group guidelines.
  • Lead and facilitate technical topics (uncertainties, issues, testing methods).
  • Conduct certification tests under external auditor supervision.
  • Provide decisions on test results.
  • Write test reports and related documents.
  • Ensure knowledge capitalization and feedback.
  • Provide feedback to the Project Test Leader on test progress and results.
  • Maintain knowledge of validation use-cases and update reservation plans.
  • Create and follow Jira tickets.
  • Contribute to laboratory continuous improvement plans and test strategies.
  • Serve as technical referent for Hardware Test Engineers in EMC domains.
  • Support design teams during investigation and verification phases.
  • Participate in technical meetings and review quality documents related to testing.
  • Share expertise within communities and propose technological evolutions linked to digital transformation.
  • Lead deployment of new technologies.
  • Follow ISO IEC 17025:2017 laboratory best practices.

Your profile:

  • Engineering or bachelor’s degree in EMC, electronics, or electrotechnics.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in EMC, electronics, or electrotechnics engineering.

Your competencies:

  • Strong experience in Certification Testing (CB-Scheme, UL, CSA, IECEE, CE).
  • Expertise in EMC Testing.
  • Understanding of customer application needs in Industrial Automation.
  • Willingness to obtain Electrifier Level 1 certification within one year.
  • Knowledge of EMC standards IEC 1000-4-XX, EMC32 software, drives, and soft-starters standards.
  • Knowledge of functional safety standards IEC 61800-5-2, IEC 61000-6-7.
  • Experience with test equipment calibration per COFRAC and international standards.
  • Physical measurement skills (current, voltage, frequency, power).
  • Familiarity with development processes (Agile, Scrum, PMP, PEP).
  • Proficiency with engineering tools (Rational Clear Quest, Jira, DevOps, GIT) and automatic test software (Test Stand, LabView).
  • Understanding of product lifecycle verification and validation.
  • Ability to work in multicultural, matrix organizations using Agile methods.
  • Strong internal and external networking skills.
  • Excellent command of English (reading, writing, speaking).
