Village of Niles is seeking a full-time Bus Driver in the Public Works Department. Reporting to the Transportation Supervisor, you will provide safe, courteous, and dependable transportation to Niles residents along assigned routes, in line with Village and PACE policies.

Daily duties include route inspections, defensive driving, passenger assistance, and accurate ridership records. You will operate on a Monday–Friday schedule with daytime hours and a starting salary in the posted range.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid CDL Class C license with Passenger endorsement.
• Maintains a clean driving record for five years or more.
• Must possess a current DOT card and pass a DOT physical.
• Must complete Village training and route orientation.
• Able to lift up to 20 pounds and carry up to 10 pounds.
• Must have adequate vision and hearing to operate safely.

Responsabilités

• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the assigned bus.
• Apply defensive driving techniques and observe safety regulations.
• Monitor passenger behavior to minimize incidents.
• Greet and assist riders and answer questions about routes.
• Tally passengers and record ridership.
• Complete routes safely and on schedule.
