The Advanced Technology Team is part of Danone's global Research and Innovation division. Its mission is to DELIVER BREAKTHROUGH TECHNOLOGIES TO CREATE VALUE, BENEFITING PEOPLE AND PLANET!

Within this, the Advanced Data & Modelling team, based in Utrecht (NL) and Paris Saclay (FR), focuses on implementing data-driven and in silico approaches across all Danone product categories. Key areas include understanding ingredient, process, and packaging interactions to accelerate disruptive innovation through robust data-driven strategies.

We are seeking a Research and Innovation Statistics and Data Manager, reporting to the Data and Modelling Director.

Role & Responsibilities

• Lead data governance within the department, collaborating with data experts (Data Sciences, Data Engineering, stakeholders). Define & implement best practices for data management to support database creation, dataflows, dashboards, and visualization tools.
• Conduct end-to-end data analyses, from gathering business requirements and defining targets/KPIs to analyzing data and reporting results.
• Manage external agency resources and trainees.
• Collaborate with external partners on research projects to ensure strong data management.
• Serve as the department's statistical expert, providing advanced statistical guidance, experimental design, sampling, and result interpretation. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate statistical concepts clearly to non-experts.

About You

Our candidate will possess the following hard skills:

• Experience with Microsoft data platforms (Azure, AWS, Snowflake, or similar).
• Proficiency with visualization tools (PowerBi or similar).
• Strong command of Python, Matlab, R, or equivalent.
• Experience with statistics software (JMP, SAS).
• Knowledge of design of experiments and machine learning applied to DoE.

Ideal profile:

• Engineering or science degree in chemical/mechanical engineering, applied maths, physics, or chemistry, preferably with a PhD.
• 8-10 years of industrial experience with proven data management and leadership skills.
• Fluent in English; French is a plus.
• Strong communication skills, ability to train and explain complex concepts to non-specialists.
• Curious, problem-solving mindset, good interpersonal skills.
