We are looking for a Category Manager Traded Goods for our headquarters in La Défense.
Your main responsibilities will be:
- Build and implement renewed sourcing strategies on Traded Goods categories.
- Define homogeneous key sub-categories within the Traded Goods category in alignment with the business to develop and execute sub-category strategies.
- Optimize the supplier panel based on optimal conditions (launch tenders, negotiate price & contract, make or buy analysis, portfolio rationalizations, product & logistical optimizations, cash management, etc.).
- Drive structural productivity leading (part of LEAP programme) to achieve pre-agreed Year-Over-Year savings over the category spend.
- Build & maintain a clear insight into suppliers and upstream markets to prevent price/supply risks that could negatively affect Bostik's competitive position. Rationalize the supply base.
- Enhance sourcing performance of third-party suppliers through co-sourcing of shared raw and pack materials. Assess make-or-buy opportunities and implement.
- Manage supplier performance in line with the category strategy regarding security, CSR, PSRA, cost, quality, service, and manage structural supply issues.
- Maintain and develop relationships with global and local suppliers and internal stakeholders to find growth opportunities for the category.
- Support sales initiatives such as promotions, bonuses, and exclusive arrangements.
- Contribute to the rationalization of the product portfolio.
- Coordinate workload with team members, behave as a team player, and support operational buyers in various countries.
- Provide monthly reports including KPIs to measure savings and performance.
The profile we are looking for:
- Bachelor or MBA Degree preferred.
- >8 years of experience in a similar role.
- Procurement, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Financial aptitude and good business understanding.
- Analytical and structured approach.
- Entrepreneurial attitude with the ability to work in a non-structured environment.
- Balance between hands-on mentality and high-level vision.
- Good communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Commitment to deliverables and deadlines.
- Willingness to travel within Europe approximately 25-30% of the time.
- Background in chemical business preferred.
- Fluent in English (verbal and written).
