As a Senior Project Logistics Manager for Ground Freight, you will lead the Project Logistics Team, setting objectives and managing performance to succeed in Ground Freight Project Logistics. You will work closely with Regional Branch Operations, Regional Sales across all channels, and Regional Finance teams to grow our Project Logistics business in the EMEA Region.
Responsibilities include:
- Increasing GP contribution from Ground Freight Project Logistics, focusing on heavy haulage business across Europe.
- Growing the overall GP from Project Logistics globally.
- Becoming a subject-matter expert in Ground Freight Project Logistics and supporting the Sales Team with project logistics solutions for customers.
- Coaching the Project Logistics Team in the EMEA region to enhance technical capabilities.
- Assisting in budget preparation for Ground Freight Project Logistics during annual planning.
- Collaborating with Branch Managers, Vertical Heads, and Sales to expand our Project Logistics offerings in EMEA.
- Sourcing logistics solutions for RFQs received from existing and targeted customers, network agents, and sister offices.
- Promoting a safety culture through compliance and process ownership when handling project cargo.
- Seeking, bidding, and winning new ground freight project logistics opportunities across Europe, including oversized and heavy lift shipments.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with vendors through sourcing, meetings, and negotiations.
- Participating in customer visits to strengthen relationships through technical expertise.
- Overseeing operational activities related to special projects and customer bookings to ensure requirements are met.
- Negotiating bids and project inquiries with vendors, customers, and agents.
- Ensuring project operations adhere to company processes and procedures.
- Coaching and motivating team members, setting objectives, and reviewing performance.
- Fostering a positive working environment within the team.
Qualifications and skills required:
- Extensive experience in heavy haulage project cargo, including quoting, planning, and execution.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with related project cargo forwarding experience, and financial acumen.
- Proactive problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and pay high attention to detail.
- Ownership, initiative, ambition, self-motivation, and results orientation.
- Ability to build and maintain professional relationships within and outside the team.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Strong decision-making skills and high energy with a positive attitude and entrepreneurial spirit.
- Legal eligibility to work in the employed country.
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
